A Manhattan grand jury returned an indictment against former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress today. But the same grand jury declined to indict his former teammate, Giants LB Antonio Pierce.
Burress will face felony charges for gun possession after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound last November.
Pierce, who was with Burress at the incident and transported him to the hospital, will not face charges. His attorney, Michael Bachner, told that to ESPN.
The grand jury was considering whether to indict him for allegedly transporting Burress' gun after the shooting.
Burress is currently a free agent. But the indictment may spur commissioner Roger Goodell to impose discipline via the league's personal conduct policy.
