A D-1 kid is a kid who played D-1 football!!! Anything else is just an opinion. How many players from Pikeville's championship team played D-1 football? If you want to speculate I can speculate that Pikeville had several D-1 "caliber players" on the last several underachieving teams.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you aren't from Pikeville and/or were connected to one of the recent failed coaching staffs...

Pikeville has had several players since the championship teams that are as good as players on those teams...all we were lacking is coaching and that problem has been solved in a big way.

Watch and see how different things will be VERY QUICKLY. And if you don't think Pikeville can ever win another title you are dead wrong. Sit back and watch!hh::HitWall::flame:

Honaker and Deramus didn't play D-1 because of off-the field reasons. Hackney could have played D-1 if he had wanted to go in that direction. Steve Bailey was probably the best running back to ever wear the maroon, played at Marshall

I'm going to go a little further out on that limb and say that you have never been involved in coaching, that's obvious. Just have another drink!!!:dontthink ...and yes you would be guessing! So if you're trying to attack me personally or trying to imply that I was part of something that you have no idea about, then I would love to discuss it or settle it any other way, outside of BGR. Some players in the 90's(Powers, Akers, Coleman) may have been close to some of those players, but not many others. Since 2001, Ted Honaker would be the the only player to compare to those guys.

I've said it before and I'll say it one more time, Pikeville should have a very good team this year, but not state title contenders............and by the way, what kind of talent has been coming through the middle grades as of late.

Pikeville will have some good regular season win/loss records coming up because after this year I would say we could expect some easier schedules in order to drum up some wins. I've been hearing that the new coach was trying to get out of some of the contracts with teams on this years schedule. What have you heard?
