The Holy Cross boys' basketball team rallied for a 48-45 home victory over Conner on Saturday.

Conner, ranked No. 7 in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, cut the lead to 47-45 with less than a minute remaining. But Indians junior Keith Egan made a free throw with 27 seconds remaining and Holy Cross preserved the victory with good defense.

After trailing 32-28 at halftime, the Indians outscored Conner 13-3 in the third quarter, holding the Cougars scoreless until senior Jeremy Broyles made a 3-pointer with a minute remaining to break.

Holy Cross senior Blake Trimpe scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter.

Egan finished with 16 points for Holy Cross, which snapped a five-game losing streak.

Senior Chris Lang led Conner with 10 points.
