It doesn't bother me at all, it's for entertainment, it is just a game, and no, I do not boo. However, these are 18-22 year old adults, they are not children anymore, I'm sure they are tough enough to handle a little fan criticism. If they fold up over some booing, then they are not very tough to begin with. If anything the booing will likely light a fire under butts, and they will play even harder and more focused.

Let us put things in perspective here. Do you know we have 18-22 year kids dying daily over in Iraq? Yet, we worry if pampered college athletes get their feelings hurt if booed.

Anyway, it seems obvious to me the Kentucky fans are not booing the players or our storied program; they are booing the poor coaching. I don't remember anyone ever booing the early Pitino probation teams, no matter how bad they got beat. But, they were well coached, hustled, played together, and played with heart. Pitino did everything possible to put them in the best position to win.

I don't see the effort and the passion with this Gillispie coached team. They play tense, and they play like they are afraid to make a mistake. They are afraid to shoot. At some point, Gillispie has to let them play through those mistakes, and learn and grow from those mistakes. He needs to give them pat on the back every now and then to encourage this team. The constant scolding and jerking players out over one mistake, in my opinion is taking its toll on their confidence and morale. The fans realize this, and are booing Gillispie.

If we were “severely” lacking in talent, and the coaches were doing everything possible to put the Cats into the best position to win, then the fans would not be booing. They would cheer the effort of everyone. However, we are losing to teams much less talented from top to bottom, and no adjustments are being made to correct this. The blame has to be placed at the top, and fans realize this, so the fans are showing their frustration by booing the poor coaching. Hopefully, the booing will light a fire under the butt of Gillispie too. If not things are only going to get worse.

I have no issue with your perspective of the coach not making adjustments, but I feel it is still off base, in particular to the last game. The Cats got the game to 5 twice due to the defenisive change that the Cats made. Dumb decisions by Stevenson twice wiped out the defensive effort that afforded the Cats to get back in the game. If you recall, MSU was hitting 25'+ 3-pointers, with a defender at the 3-pt line. You don't expect a team to shoot 5' feet beyond that mark, thus I would not have coached my defense to get any closer.

To go to a Zone defense was not relevant. I don't understand that reasoning. The M2M D, as I said above, put the defensive player at the 3 point line. You would not have taken a Zone defense any furhter out than what they already were at.

I will continue to agree to disagree with your opinion based on the above. As for teams losing to teams that they shouldn't lose to, it happens every single night. We are more intuned to say "I don't care about who else it happens to".

I as a fan get upset, but I have faith in the coach and the direction of the team. Tubby coached and brought a certain level of player to this program. It is not the same type of player that Billy Clyde uses in his program. We can be upset that he is not changing his program to fit the players that he has, and that is fair. But this will be a 20+ win team that is in significant rebuilding or overhauling.
