Kids wouldn't understand the full concept of the commandments and prayer and stuff even if it was taught before they had to say it.
They just wouldn't comprehend the full basis of religion and prayter and commandments so therefore they would be saying stuff just because they were supposed to. It shouldn't be pointing them in the right "direction", they need to (when they are old enough) to pick their own direction.
