Silver Grove 53 - Bellevue 46
#2
Silver Grove battled back from an early 14-2 deficit en route to its first win of the season, a 53-46 decision over Bellevue in a boys' basketball game Monday night.

"It was really nice," said Silver Grove head coach Matt Sharp. "It's been a long time coming."

The Big Train (1-17) was led by senior guard Alex McClain, who scored a team-high 22 points. McClain made six 3-pointers.

Kerry Baumann also had a big night for Silver Grove with his first double-double of the season. The senior forward scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

"Sometimes the kids just need to learn how to win, and getting that first one is the toughest," Sharp said. "It was a different level of effort tonight, and I'm expecting to get that the rest of the year."

Junior forward Hunter Jones led all scorers with 23 points for visiting Bellevue (3-15).
