Exactly who were the true "A" teams in the tourney? Phelps, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, and who else???

Allen Central, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, Pikeville, Phelps, Piarist & South Floyd are true single A schools according to football classification. All of those schools with the exception of Betsy Layne has participated in the All "A" year-after-year.

Previously before consolidation: Johns Creek, Mullins, McDowell, Wheelwright, Millard, Feds Creek and Elkhorn City were participants in the tournament.
