J'Town-Eastern
In this game J'Town played about as well as they could, shots that probably shouldn't have gone in, did. Eastern was out rebounded and played probably their worst game all season. Not saying J'Town didn't deserve to win because they did, but I think the two of them are alot closer than that 15 point score. I really wanted to see Eastern-J'Town in the final, win or lose it would've been nice to have another game against J'Town before Districts.

Ballard-J'Town
Ballard played REALLY well, well enough to be one of the best teams in the state. J'Town played awful, didn't hit their shots and just made bad decisions with their passes. Ballard out played them, and Renner out coached Morrow. Plain and simple. It was a 10:30 am game so alot of the players seemed out of it.

Eastern-Ballard (Twice)
In the first game Eastern flat outplayed Ballard and the game wasn't really as close as the 7 points until the end. The second game, Eastern came out flat and seemed like they thought the game was over before it started, Ballard played well and Eastern was forced to play from behind. At the end of the game, Couch just plain whipped Renner in the coaching department. Eastern showed guts and that they wanted the win and ended up pulling it out.


The fact that Eastern and J'Town are in the 28th together means that one of them will have to play a Manual, Ballard, Male, Seneca that won their own district. Unfortunately I feel like another coulda-been, shoulda-been State Champion may get left in the 7th Region graveyard with the rest of the great teams that never made it. Its a sad but true occurence and I see no argument for any region being better than the 7th as a whole.

Congrats to Eastern and to EasternAlum. What a nice run by a very team-oriented Eagles squad. Winning the toughest event in the state is a great acheivement.

It is tragic that so many of the state's top teams reside in one region. And now Manual will get back one of the state's best overall players in Jenkins who'll be close to new this week. Its gonna be a barn burner this tournament time.
