Holmes has been a powerhouse in the State for well over 25 years. Going back to the days of Schloemer in the 70's, Beal 80's and Jennings, they have been in the State tournament more than any other NKY team. Though Holmes has yet to win a State title, they have played in the championship game three times (78, 90, 08).
