I'm saying they may be able to compete with these teams, but just like last year's Mason County game, they do not have the depth nor size to beat these teams consistently. Could they win, sure, that's why they play the game to prove mine, yours and everyone elses opinions.

I like EC a lot, and all of my posts about them have been respectful. I have seen them play, just as I have seen these other teams play, thus I feel that I have a good understanding of the matchups. Holmes can shoot just as well from the outside as EC, but the major difference that all of these teams have in a matchup with EC is rebounding. Each of the four teams mentioned have outrebounded every team that they have played (with the exception of SC's loss to Holmes). Each of these teams would have the ability to get the ball inside and score or draw fouls. If they do not hit free-throws, then advantage to EC.

How do you see the match-up with each of these teams, not just as a fan but objectivly?

My first disagreement is........The ref's let Mason win that game......nothing to do with depth or size, Middleton and Setty both hit big threes, but it was the ref's allowing Miller to assault first Knipp, then Ferguson on Mason freethrows that won the game for Mason! As for future matchups with the teams you mentioned......I feel that coaching is the biggest difference.....IMO defense and grit on the part of EC make them no worse than equal to any team in this state! As for Holmes shooting it as good as EC...............I'd say EC's first 5 would out shoot any first 5 in the state!!!!!!!!

As for the State game last year, well I was at the game too. It's too easy to blame referees. Freethrows, Rebounds and Turnovers were not in the hands of the referees.

As for the coaching, that is a very vague comparison. I guess the only measure is how one coach does when matched up against the other. Since EC's only game against a top 20 team is not until Mason Co, it's hard to make any comparisons for this year. We've already seen the other teams in the top 5 play each other, and they will have additional matchups against each other as the season progresses.
