Is that right? First, Estill's former coaches which coached with Coach Niece do not coach because they choose not too, mainly because of the style and embarrassment of the schedule. Second, no one on here has said anything bad about the kids here in Estill. Third, we did not play PHELPS, BEREA, KNOTT CO AND ANYONE ELSE WITH A LOSING RECORD THE PREVIOUS TWO YEARS before the contracts were up. Fourth, winning nine games against these people is NOT SUCCESSFUL period... Fifth, we have never been known to drop anyone on our schedule until the recent past: Bellevue (which we scheduled when they were 2-8 or somewhere in that area) after they kicked our butts (not the kids fault, the talent is here), Rockastle, Garrard, Madison Southern, Johnson Central, just a few off the top of my head. We didn't run from ANYONE, they may have beat us on the score board, which was not often, but they new they had been in a fight and we can still today be proud of what we did. Sixth, you are not doing the kids justice by playing these people, for when they do play someone decent they are not prepared (not their fault, nothing here is being said about the kids if you get the point). I am tired of counting! It seems the people have amnesia around here that think they know anything about football. Let me give you some out of district competition that used to be scheduled: Breathitt, Johnson Central, Clay Co, Hazard, Prestonsburg, Pikeville, and BY *** we played! Something to be proud of! Not 10-2 playing cupcakes as alum43 says and getting killed by good teams, first or second round of districts. I don't remember a coach coffee so I can't callout nor would I our alumn43. I can say alumn43 has only spoken the truth and he has said nothing bad about our kids so please refrain from moranic activity on here and that embarrasses yourselves more. Bottom line, I know how scheduling goes and you don't have to play "CUPCAKES". The AD and Head Coach do this, and I can promise you there is better teams to play than what has been scheduled. Let me leave you football experts with this: Louisville Central was 5-5 going into the playoffs last year and won the STATE, you think anyone remembers those five losses. Their coach prepared them by playing a very tough schedule and doing what it takes. As a coach you CAN tell folks like Berea, if they call, no I am sorry we are not going to play and instead find a quality opponent. Too many younger coaches these days are worried about their win totals and I have personally heard some say they will travel anywhere for a win (not necesarrily here either). I will leave you with this: We do have fans who care, especially from the old school and it is an embarrassment to see who we are playing and how we have been whipped by good teams we have played (THIS TOO is not about the kids, but it is the TRUTH). Try to lose some of the amnesia and open your eyes and think back to ESTILL CO FOOTBALL! A FAN THAT CARES!

Here is the bottom line! If Holcomb said they have had the best talent in the last ten years then he was trying to keep the peace or something with someone. To get to the playoffs you have to play your district. So by your thoughts we have a weak district. If you don't think we have a good coaching staff thats fine. As a parent I know that the majority of people are happy with the staff. I don't think that Coach Jones is too worried about his win totals because if so then he would not be at Estill. He is from here and has pride in the past present and future. This is the best chance that Estill has and has had of competing deep into the playoffs.
