Lewis' time was 11.46 for 100 yards.... 40 yards is 4/10 of 100 yards...
Thus it is simple math that if you take his 100 yard time (11.46) and multiply it by 4/10 (.4) then you get a 4.584 estimate for the 40 yard dash.
Which is fairly leniant considering that in a 40 he would have to get up to speed unlike his 100 time where he actually does reach optimal speed and can sustain it.
For example you use Justin Green of Male, who won the race.
Green's estimated 40 would be 4.36, which is accurate considering the times that has been associated with him and others on recruiting sites.
Green defeated Lewis by well over a full second..so if Lewis runs a 4.2 40 that means Justin Green runs a sub 4.0 40 which puts him on the same level as Usain Bolt....
When I said you were wrong it was directed at your statement about EJ Fields winning the 100 meter at state.
I'm not meaning to get in your feeling over this. It was a simple post. If it makes you feel better believing he's not that fast then I'm fine with that. Believe what you want.
You cannot use the logic you're trying to determine an estimated 40 time. He won the region with a 10.94, using your logic he's capable of a 4.37. Yes, some people may be faster at the end and some are faster early in a sprint, there are just to many variables. And I do want to point out it was hand timed and admitted it may not be 100% correct. I'm not arguing with you on a board. I know I'm right and i'm ending it with that!
