DEVILOLOGIST Wrote:1. Every play is designed to score TD..-If you really look at it, everyplay is that way.
2. If I call an 8-26, and every man blocks, it is a touchdown...
3. You can not place the blame on the coaches for the play not working......
4. If you dont do your job the play fails.
5. You are always taught to block til the whistle blows, now we can not even get a POP and STOP.

As I said before, you can blame the coaches all you want, but when you call your bread and butter plays, 8-26, 8-22 and you loose yardage,, wheres the problem???? Somebody did not do there job on the field......

Looking at Josh Gross run the 8-26.........mostly TD
Watching Kasey Clark run the 8-26.........mostly TD
watching Drew Abrams run the 8-26 last year.......TD
watching the 8-26 this year,,,,,,,,,,pitiful.......GUYS the play doesnt change and the only thing that does is the front line........IF YOUR LINE IS GOOD,, THIS FATBOY COULD RUN A TD OUT THERE!!!!!!
We knew coming into this season that the line would need to step up.... Greenup was no challenge, Boyd was better, West Carter was weak and the line looked alright.. and you lulled us fans into a false sense of security..... Then we play Ashland,, that no matter what their record will always be one of our toughest opponents,,, Even if they brought in a cheerleader from the side,, she would still find a way to score...

All together now and repeat after me........" I, (state your name) will hear by solemly swear to focus on the betterment of this team and to support them in their improvment to become a great team. Even if it is making changes to the team that the fans dont like.... I know that I am not a coach and I have no say in the matter.. As we all agree that armchair coaches may know alot about football, we are not responsible for the actions or operation of the Russell Red Devil football team.

OUr job is to be LOUD on the sidelines and to cheer our team on the field.....
Which brings me to another topic.....

Dude I have been around football at Russell for along time..... We bring the largest crowds to a game and we never make noise. Most fans just sit and watch, or come to be seen...
Here is my challenge to all fans on here and the people they can influence.......
make some freakin noise at a football game.......
Our team needs to hear us... Then maybe they will feel like they are at a football game instead of a BALLET.......

Only disagreement I have is no team has ever used to defence like that against Russell. Ashland 100% completely sold out. They brought everyone but the safety's on every single play. True the line could have done much better. I saw no attempt though to try and get some pressure off of them with any quick screens or pop passes. I'm sorry I won't just let that play calling slide.

Remember Belfry 06? Kasey maybe had 60yds for the game. Belfry loaded the box and Russell won 19-0 through the air with passes to Frazier and Clark. After they loosened Belfry up, they used Kasey to run the clock out. If you make Ashland keep one or 2 guys back then those runs of Drews where he got tackled 1 on 1 or tripped up become long runs. You watched the game film? I didn't see as many missed blocks as you might think. You can't ask everyone to block 2 guys every play. Even with that we were still in the game in the 4th, but then I think you saw the lack of conditioning from sitting on the sidelines for most games all season. This team needs to get their attitude straight. They need to quit worry about where they think they are gonna play college ball. If Friday night was any indication of the heart and effort these kids have in them, none of them will play anywhere on Saturday afternoons.

That is a much better Ashland team than anyone expected, they beat us @ every aspect of the game. Gameplan, Game adjustments, blocking, getting off blocks, effort, heart, tackling.
