Have you ever seen a guy wanting fans approval from his hometown more than him? 1 winning season since he became a Red and that was the first season he was in uniform. This trade was a no-brainer. You're not gonna pick up his option, he's 38 and obviously unhappy (giving interviews earlier this year about his desire to go back to Seattle). I think it's just best for both parties. More importantly, this shows the Reds want to go in a new direction. No fire sale because we didn't give up players like Weathers, Affeldt, Arroyo, Dunn for nothing. Let the young guys keep pitching, Bruce has a more natural home in RF now, and FINALLY someone productive will hit in the 3rd slot in the Reds lineup.
