On ESPN.com it says that they will recieve relieving pitcher Nick Masset and 2nd Baseman Danny Richar.
I don'y know why they would want another 2nd baseman, it justs boggles my mind. Also, Nick Masset ERA pitching this year is 4.36! I know that Jr. wouldn't be back after this season and we had to get something for him, but I'm sure there was a better deal than this out there!!

While one might think so, I really think this probably was the best deal out there for Griffey. Granted, he can still hit the occasional home run, but he is making $12.5 million this year and his defense has taken a nosedive. Not to mention that he is 38 years old and a soon-to-be free agent. Honestly, I thought we'd be lucky to get a sack of baseballs for Junior. The only reason we are getting anything in return is that we are paying half the 4 million or so he is owed the rest of this year, as well as half the option buyout.

I'm torn between trading Dunn and keeping him. It would free up more money if Cincy got rid of him, but would also cut back on the runs they score. I think they should cut Arroyo though because he is eating up a ton of money, sign Dunn back, and find some nice leadoff type players.

They can't just cut Arroyo to free up some money. This isn't the NFL, if you release an MLB player, you are still on the hook for the entire amount of their contract. Which, for Arroyo, involves the rest of this year plus the $24 million he is owed the next two seasons. So there is absolutlely no way that is happening. A trade is a possibility, but no one wants to give up very much for him due to that large contract. Barring an unexpectedly good offer, the Reds will be better off to just keep him and hope he straightens things out.
