It just seems odd to me that a mediocre (at best) 15th region coach is now coaching at the college level

I have to agree with you. Is this a job that really no one wants? Did this guy win at the highschool level? Seems like ALC could try an go after one of the better coaches in highschool, there's a lot in the 13, 14, and 15 regions that are very qualified. Pikeville College got a coach from State Champion Mason County.
