I bet you all have really interesting Thanksgiving dinners then. I agree with the other post. Is there any school in the area or state that only has players that are supposed to be in the school they attend? By that, I mean from first grade on. Most schools have kids to transfer in and transfer out. Some of it is for sports, some for other reasons. I bet if all the kids mentioned in here that play for Hazard didnt play sports and just went there because it was a better school than where they came from that nothing would be said. I have yet to read where such and such school cheated in a academic meet or science meet because they had students that they was not supposed to have on the team. As a parent of a athlete, I know that not all parents are worried about how junior will do on the court as much as how they do in the classroom and how prepared they are for college. High school sports are only for four years. Not a lifetime like a quality education is.

The problem with your argument here, as I see it, is that it dances around the real issue. I have yet to see 20,000 people show up at an academic match, though a few movies about spelling bee's exist, and TV coverage. I don't think Al Holland says, "Hey, that Johnson kid can really spell and do science. Geez, he can't even dribble...but we really need him at Hazard." Some parents shop for exposure, for the trip to Rupp, viewing rules or competitive fairness as minor obstacles to be overcome at all costs.
