I was just wondering with all the consolidation that has happened over the years and some districts having only 3 teams in them. What would the chances of being in having a true regional tourney. Change the districts to conferences where you can have a conference champion based on wins and loses. Every regional team playing each other. Every 15th region team going to the regionals and seat them based on records. Best record plays the worst record and so on. Have it where the top 4 records are in separate brackets. Play your way down to a true best team in the region instead of in districts like the 56th where a top team can get beat out of the districts on the first night. How about some thoughts on this.

You cannot do it based on that.

Phelps is notorious for scheduling weak teams. Last year they were 18-8 while scheduling 10 teams from WV. and Va., going 9-1 against those teams, the loss coming to the ONE team that had a winning record.

Cannot go by in region competition either, as you would the have schools trying to schedule David and Piarist.


I would like to see it, but for it to happen the KHSAA is going to have to do something with football season. They need to take out the bye week and first round of playoffs from football. Extend basketball until the last week in March.

As some have stated, the districts go in cycles, I remember a few years when Jody Thompson play at Feds Creek and Johns Creek had good teams, that 4 of the top 5 teams in the region were in the 60th district.
