Paintsville-72 Pikeville-69 (2OT) - 15th Region All "A" Classic
There is a reason why you play 30 games before you enter district tournament play. In reality they are all just practice games used to develope players in an effort to get them better. Seems like Pikeville is picking up a lot of steam. Bart has always made defense his first priority since he took over the Pikeville program, not offense. Could Pikeville now be considered the team to beat based on the momentum they are building, and with their rapid improvement? How good will they be a month from now? Losing Taylor Newsome may be a bigger blow to SV than they realize. It's not how good you are when you go down state in December and play in those holiday tournaments. It's not how good you are when you play in the "All A" in Richmond. Ultimately what defines your season is how much you have learned from playing your first 30 games and how you apply that knowledge. It all comes down to how good you are entering that last week in February. Looks to me like Pikeville may be the team to beat.

Could be a real interesting post season.
