With the win over Huntington last year, Scott County's national stock soared, being invited to not only return to the Beach Ball Classic, but also the Isle of Palms Tourney and a nationally televised game against #2 ranked St. Anthony's of New Jersey. Having lost their superstar point guard Jonathan "Bud" Mackey - 2007 Sweet 16 MVP to drug related charges, they simply do not have the man power to hang with the strong national teams. On a side note though, they have only lost twice to in state rivals, on the road to 2007 runner-up Ballard and at home to 42nd District Rival and now #1 Bryan Station. They do have a win at Mason County this year.

The Cards have always played with the same verocity on the defensive end, they go 9-10 deep with no losses on defense, but the offense struggles.

They improve to 11-9 on the year, but with the ridiculous schedule they have played, those experiences are helping them when it matters, come district and regional tournament time.
