The Coach

On a muggy summer morning, the guys arrived at Nutter
There the coach was waiting, his thought was really deep
The team got really worried, thought they were in trouble
They stood there in silance, until he began to speak

Rich said, boys I’ve won many’a games by watchin’ lots of film,
And knowing what the plays were, before their coaches did.
So if you listen to me in practice, we’ll go kick some asses
And bring home the victories, like Bear Bryant did

So they gave him all attention as he shouted out commands
And the players responded, as he guided them through the game
Commonwealth got very loud and Big Blue Nation came out of recession
Their team had more victories thanks to Rich Brooks and Co.

Now every fan thought, that Barnhardt had lost his mind,
They said that Brooks was old and couldn’t connect with the team
But he was a Winner and wasn’t going to become a loser
And the Best Coach the Cats could hope has been a great keep.

So when the season was over, he went to watch more video
Forgot about the ’07 campaign and looked towards the next
But somewhere in his mind, there was a slight smile
Cause there on his finger was a ring from the SEC!
