This is a crazy question. Pikeville College football has given kids a chance to graduate college. I went to Lexington the other day and saw Larry Forrester working in a bank as a loan officer and it made me so happy. Now about the local thing. Pikeville College signed 30 kids from the mountains this year and 4 are still playing ( I talked to the coach the other day). Guys, this is the way it is every year. Kids quit from around here. They get home sick and go home. I know out of the 30 that some never even made it to a practice. It isn't because of money either, the kid from Johnson Central (Johnson) quit and was getting plenty of money. The Howard kid quit from Leslie, Simpson from LCC, and plenty more and they all received a scholarship. The only ones I know that are left is Tackett from JC, Owens from KC, Cable from SV, and Begley from PCC.

Well when the recruiter and coach makes all these promises to the local players and then don't even acknowledge they are even there, I would be upset to, personally I wouldn't quit but I would be unhappy. Johnson quit cause he was promised some playin time at LB, hell he never even got the first chance at LB, he was at TE from day one. He tried the TE position but never even got any reps there either. As for Ryan Howard, you don't know his situation, he left with good reason (accordin to my buddies that play for PC). I played for PC and had a good time, but I seen first hand how things are up there and that was with the old staff, this one aint no different. They think the black boys are the only athletes in the world, most local boys never even get a chance.
