They did rock with Sammy. Dont get me wrong on that, but, at times they were more prog rock than hard rock with all the keyboard stuff. I liked "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" cause it was more of a straight on rock record like they wouldve made under DLR. "5150" was almost all keyboards and that album and "VH III" were the 2 worst they ever made IMO. What are some of your favorite VH albums?

My favorite albums were probably Van Halen, 1984, and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. I agree that the last aforementioned album (I won't abbreviate it, LOL) was the best effort of the Hagar era, I loved "Poundcake".

I also wasn't wild about all the keyboards on 5150, which is actually the main reason I can't stand "Jump" (is that heresy?). There's so much synthesizer it doesn't even sound like a rock song. I think it's a shame that it was their most successful song.
