They have rap on the station because they believe there isn't a big enough market to just play rock music.

I know some of you may disagree...but this is why they have so much of the rap/hip hop on there from what I've been told by people who work at the stations.

I agree, that's probably the reason why there isn't an all-the-time rock station around here. You have to pay the bills, too, and there are a lot more teenyboppers who listen to Justin Timberlake, than there are metalheads like me. You have to go with what gets the best ratings, it's just a shame that the majority of listeners around here like that crap.

When I lived in Lexington it was awesome, they had Z-Rock 103.3 as well as Double-Q 100.1, which both played a mix of old and new rock/metal. I always just switched back and forth between the two!
