Ashleigh Stanley recorded 8 K's and allowed only 2 hits in the shut out of LC, and SV's offense pushed 4 runs across the plate in the 4th inning to force Caudill from the game. Amanda Sawyers earned her first varsity victory in the 2nd contest while scattering 6 hits and allowing 1 earned run. SV's defense played well all day long and they had 10 hits against Caudill in her 11 innings of work and 4 against the relief pitcher in the 1st contest. They played 4 games in an 18 hr. period. Estill and Montgomery beat up on them Friday night, but they brought their "A" game to Lawrence and showed why they should not be counted out of the regional mix. They saw some very strong pitching over the weekend, and it should help them come Wednesday. Stay focused...the goal is within reach!!!:1:
