Tubby Smith has been told that he can’t hire Jimmy Williams as an assistant coach. Williams, who resigned his job at Oklahoma State a couple of weeks back to join Tubby at Minnesota, was an assistant in the early ’70s when UMinn was penalized by the NCAA for numerous violations. We suspect David Hobbs is somewhere waiting for his phone to ring.

That's funny. Tubby left because he didn't want to be bossed by Barnhart and told how to run his program. Where's the love in Minnesota now? I don't blame the administration for doing this. It would be an image problem.
