Although JC has more pitching, these teams are not far apart from each other. JC has several older kids in MS, and in the first game, Paintsville played with them all the way. Parker(15 year old) threw pretty well, touching 80 MPH a couple of times. Paintsville threw 13 year old 7th grader Ethan Daniel, and he did very well. There was only 1 earned run in this game and it went to JC.
In the second game, Paintsville started another seventh grader on the mound, and 2 seventh graders and 6 5th & 6th graders. JC went with their same lineup, that included at lest 3-4 8th grade holdbacks. Not saying that there is anything wrong with it, just that they had a bunch of younger kids that IMO deserved a little more time on the field. I left after the second inning, but was told by JC parents that JC didn't change their lineup til the 4th.
Congrats to JC on the wins. Both schools have bright futures.
