We were able to hit them but could only muster 3 runs. We were also without our starting catcher, Grimm was unable to pitch, Vanhoose wasn't there either. They took advantage of our freshman catcher, even tried to steal home twice...unsuccessfully, and a suicide squeeze!!! Which our catcher called for a pitchout, but the batter jumped across the plate to bunt the ball....the parent/umps let it stand but would have been an inning killer as the next guy was out and inning over, but they put up about 10 runs on our freshman pitchers. Their scoreboard is just like ours...I think it said the final was 77-43!!
All in all, I saw several bright spots for the Tigers. Dunbars Coach said he didn't pitch his ace, but several parents told me that their ace did indeed pitch the first 2 innings as a scout from the Oriole's was there to see him.
Dunbar's ace is Thomas Royce. He has already signed with Louisville and is a legitimate 90 mph'er. If he threw, I think that you would remember him very clearly. Anybody fit that description? If you didn't see anyone who threw upper 80's to touching the low 90's, he didn't throw.
