Pikeville Junior High WINS NATIONALS!
#46
hillbilly Wrote:It seems that a lot of people on here are complaining about the youth of Pikeville's second cheerleading squad. First of all, Title IX(and the state) designated that the younger squad at Pikeville was good enough and competitive enough to be classified as a varsity squad. They cheer for the girls basketball team, home boys and girls junior high games. Second, how can people get on here and complain about a junior high squad beating varsity squads? Seems to me that some of you all need to quit complaining about situations that you know nothing about and work hard to upgrade your programs. They are required to compete at KAPOS by the local school administration. They do well to finish in the top five at KAPOS due to competing against the likes of Madison Central, Clark Co., Henderson Co., Dunbar and other varsity squads. They are the only junior high squad in the state that does this because the school has two competitive squads as designated by the Title IX folks in Lexington and they do usually have one to three Freshmen on the squad. It just happens that this year all of the Freshmen are on the Varsity squad. I can only remember one year over the last twenty, that the younger squad has had anybody other than Freshmen or below. And finally to you 57thscarlett, your above posts reminds me of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. If you think that KAPOS caters to Pikeville, then you have some serious issues. If you have issues with competitive experiences, then you need to get your local school to attend more competitions to get that experience. And finally, get better educated on the issues that you are complaining about.

Ok Hillbilly, obviously my 12 years of cheerleading experience and the region and state titles my squad held means nothing.
[size=3]I've expressed the way I feel, which it the point of this sight. I was looking for friendly discussion. However, I will not be talked down to or have my knowledge and experienced questioned. You have no idea who I am behind this screen name, so you have no idea how "educated on the issues" I am.

I won't change my opinion on this subject so trying to make me seem "stupid" or "inexperienced" is a waste of time.
By the way, the President of KAPOS is from Morehead. I don’t think that qualifies as Western Ky. Maybe you’re the one that should “get better educated”?
