Thank you for making my point. It kinda brought a tear to my eye, talking about everyone taking paycuts because they care. Care about what? If it is the kids they care about then why dont they take thier expertise and teach at the lower scoring schools. Now that would really impress someone. As far as your indexes go, they are often manipulated. I will tell you one index I would like to see; the average income of the parents of your students compared to the rest of the county(s). By the way; I know what contiguous means, not all non-Paintsville people are dumb a _ _ _ _. I have had several educators tell me that the scoring system is a joke anyway. I'm not buying the "smarter kids only go to Paintsville" argument. So, finally the real issue comes to the top-its just a Paintsville thing. You have to be born in it to understand it. So there you go, an opposing view to the kingdom. I wonder if anyone else has the guts to speak thier opinion.

First of all, test scores are not all there is, but they are a good INDICATOR. That's why you take the ACT to get into college. As far as manipulating them, the state calculates them, not the school and the state is the friend of no one. Furthermore, not all the smartest go to PHS. We have our share of the other end, and I know some pretty smart cookies from other schools. BUT, our teachers care to make a difference and give 110% everyday. You don't like Paintsville and that's obvious. However, to address your arguement that our teachers don't care enough to teach at lower scoring schools ~~ OUR TEACHERS CARE! They care about family. And FAMILY IS ALWAYS FIRST! But the thread is off topic now!
