Pitino Sends Top Recruit Home
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville freshman forward Derrick
Caracter has been sent home to New Jersey by coach Rick Pitino. The
coach Pitino says a variety of issues led to the decision.
He did not say specifically why Caracter was being sent home.
Caracter sat out of Louisville's win over Savannah State
Wednesday night for a violation of team rules.
Pitino said after the game that Caracter would be available for
Saturday's game against Miami but changed his mind.
Pitino doesn't know when or if Caracter will be back with the
Cardinals.
The six-foot-eight Caracter has struggled during his first year
at Louisville. He's averaging five points and four-point-eight
rebounds per game
