I don't think that it is so much of the accent that they are probably trying to rid the students of but rather they are trying to help in teaching proper grammar.....Instead of saying "I ain't never been there" saying "I havn't been there"...just things like that....that's why people from EKY don't score as well on the english part of the ACT because they think that they have the right answer just because that it what they always hear....nothing against the accent, just using the words in the proper manner.
