Well guys and gals my dad just had open heart surgery today quad. by pass at Kings Daughters in Ashland..he is doing fine, but everything happened so fast I coudlnt put this on here before. Because we took him for his heart cath monday and they found a 95 to 99 percent blockage in his left main artery, and its also called the "widow maker" so he was very close of having a major heart attack. But he pulled through surgery fine and they doctor said his heart was 100 percent strong it just had some blockages but thats cleared up now and he should be fine and dandy.

Your Dad may want to ask his surgeon/cardiololgist about enrolling in a cardiac rehab program. It is a very good program for anyone who has heart problems (By-pass, stents) and is available at most hospitals. I work in Cardiac Rehab and can really see a difference in our patients from the time they start the program till the time they finish. The class will help him get his strength back and will also give him a chance to meet others who share his background. It is covered by Medicare and most insurances.
