Greenup seemed very slow and the Ashland team was too fast them. Mahan played a solid game at QB but had too many fumbles/botched snaps. Thomas was held in check most of the game. Luke Bonner was supposed to return this week but seemed to get tweaked in pregame and saw limited action. A lot of personal fouls in the first half, but it cleaned up a lot in the 2nd half. The game was 28-0 at the half.
That is Greenup Co's main weakness. No team speed. I listened to a little bit of it on the radio and it sounded like a replay of the Greenup/Russell game. They have no answer for a fast athletic team.
Best wishes to Greenup coach Mike Sammons. He was hospitalized early friday with chest pains. Greenup Co's assistants filled in at the game.
