A lot of you fellows are making too big of a deal out of the fact that Powell County is returning 11 or 12 seniors. However, this same group of players were 8-17 last year and lost to Estill County in the first round of the district tournament by 67-45. Well, June Buchanan is also returning most of their team and finished the season last year with a 23-6 record...which included a WIN over Estill in the regional quarterfinals. By losing by 3 pts in 2 OT to region champ Hazard in the semifinals is proof enough for me that the Crusaders are the clear-cut top team in the region this year.

It is easy to be 23-6 when you play Riverside twice, the David school twice,and Piarist twice. not to mention that JBS is in the easiest district. Who couldn't beat Jenkins, KCC, and LCC. Well maybe the district of Wolfe,Riverside,Jackson City, and Breathitt is but still Powell had a way rougher schedule last year. it doesn't matter what happened last year this is a new year and I see Powell and JBS in the regional final. But Powell will be the victor due to ball hogs on JBS.
