I’m not sure there is such thing as a “bad scrimmage” or joint practice. Chances are there’s atleast 3 or 4 kids in Pikevilles starters and rotation guys, that will benefit from seeing starters from another team. 1A is a different world, it’s tough to get quality reps from your guys, especially if they go both ways upfront.

Pikeville will also benefit from getting more reps for their younger guys as well and seeing exactly who has the potential at becoming those rotational guys or guys that can give you a series each game to spell some other guys.

While I see the argument of it not being competitive, it’s about more than that.

If you are in the world of scrimmaging only power house teams, you better have the depth to allow it. Pikeville has a rough as road ahead of them in the first several weeks of the season.

While I will agree with that, then you must agree that Playing a Powerhouse 10 Game Schedule that a team must have depth or it won't matter come Playoff time because of injuries as well right ?

Yes but I think where we disagree is adding 2 powerhouse teams in scrimmages will likely result in more injuries and not less.
