Hate when people discredit Mountain Kids especially when some dummy from the mountains that’s never played college ball does it.  So funny how some people here blow these kids up from the cities or elsewhere to be some Superman or superwoman when they are no better than kids here.    Yes they may play moreb competitive teams most the times but sometimes we have exceptional kids here.  D1, D1, D1.  Who cares?

I’m going to agree with Medusa. I’d about bet there’s NAIA kids that are as good or better than so D-1 kids and I’ll be they’re definitely getting a hell of a lot more playing time. Sometimes D-1 isn’t the best option. Maybe it’s financially. Maybe it’s distance. May just not be a good fit overall. Then that certain kid decides to go on a smaller school path. Good for them. They thought the situation through and decided what they thought was best for their future. Unfortunately this is where some fools come into play like p. Fanning and others and the bashing starts. “Well they’re the typical mountain kid. Can’t cut it in a big time program so going to take a step back to a smaller one and next thing you know they’re back home.” Makes me sick. Seems to me like if you really wanted to change the landscape for a kid you’d support them instead of bashing them no matter what level they went too.

I agree there are kids an parents all o er the nation who think their child should play d1 an put down all other colleges an I dont get it an there are some that hype their kids up when its not necessarily in the best interest of the kid not all kids that play an start in high school are going to get offers not all kids want to go to college some get there an hate it. I think the mountains has a lot of very talented athletes but the mountain kids are often over looked
