Using kids has backfired pretty bad for the Bulldogs. Kids high school careers are a sacred part of their life that they will cherish forever, not to be used like pawns by grown ups. Gibson bros gone back to KCC, good for them that’s where they been their whole life. Combs and his crew saw what was happening by the adults at HHS and they split, good for them. Now Osborne is supposedly got some issues off the court. Anybody who had a hand in what went on at HHS  shouldn’t be allowed near a decision for the rest of their careers. So with that said…..

This is just my take but the one Gibson wasn’t ready for hazard football practices. Out of shape and out of his element. The other was probably gone as soon as his brother was which is very understandable. As far as Osborne goes I don’t have idea about that but combs and his crew saw what was happening by adults and split? Maybe I missed something but that boy was handed the keys to the kingdom the best I could tell. Didn’t have to worry about being pulled if he played bad. Access to every gym in the school system. Spot up and shoot and don’t worry about a thing other than that. Only thing he wasn’t handed was the role of being the best player on the team which would without question be Caudill. I hope combs the best and that he makes it to the nba but for anyone to say that kid and family was done wrong clearly didn’t watch how they were treated the last two season.

The talk of Combs leaving was going on during the season. Him leaving had nothing to do with the hiring process. Heck the talk at one time was him going to Knot to play for Huff before all that changed.

Exactly right so it had nothing to do with the fact of they set and watched what adults were doing. Hell combs dad was in on the hiring process of huff. They got everything they ever wanted there. Just couldn’t win the 14th region player of the year playing behind Caudill.

I'd say your right about one thing... this probably is just "your take" The younger Gibson was never staying he came to make eligibility to look better, The older Gibson decided he was going back after trying summer ball and saw what that was like. That's not an assumption... and Combs, he should've left a year earlier truthfully, I think he just assumed the team would be really good like they should've been. Anyone who watched or even talked to other coaches around the region, the only thing that evened the playing field was Caudill and Eversole competing for shots... and that is 1000% why they lost... it's no secret.. it's not just my take... it's most people's take.  Combs is way too good to be made a spot up shooter and just spot up on a wing, He had to go.. But if he stays and the older Gibson stays, there's not even a question who's the best team. Unfortunately for Hazard, now it's gonna be a lot more exciting to watch the 14th.

Bluecat, everyone knew that kid was leaving.  It just made too much sense.

Caudill and Eversole were the only ones who wanted the ball is pressure situations. Combs started out hot early in the season then cooled off once everyone really started laying defense on him. He’s a great AAU player though. Plays spotted up and ready to fire. Seems like I heard combs dad say the same things you’re saying now back in the season. Maybe that’s yours and his take on it but anyone who watched knows the kid got special treatment when he was getting torched on the defensive end. Good luck to you all at Perry though. Hopefully you can get that anchor down to rupp arena.

The fact that a school would even let parents pick a coach says a lot about the program's problems in general..... If that's the case? That's just incompetence from the administration! It seems like most of the games I watched, they had combs on the other teams best player?? And It seems like when Hazard actually looked good early in the season was when Combs was included more? Jealousy crept in just like everyone said it would, and they couldn't even get out of the worst region in the state.

Then you must’ve not went to a lot of games. Ratliff always got the toughest role of defending the other teams best player. Combs may have got to guard their second best one but when he started getting burnt the switch was made and Caudill would guard them at that point. Combs was always included. Never came off the floor. Got more minutes than anyone else on the team.
