5A rpi points for one thing and just across town. I'll take it everyday myself.   Should be an interesting matchup to see what each team is holding offensively. Corbin will give North all they won't on the defensive side of things and that should get plenty of film to look at for Pulaski and Southwestern and not forget South Laurel matchups. Its a good scheduling move for North Laurel. Corbin has 3 games on that schedule to focus on and thats Pulaski, Frederick Douglass and Johnson Central. They get by those 3 then December will be looking mighty good for Corbin.

Great games for us fans, for sure. Looking forward to them. Still, in the mid 2020's and the RPI-era, it's not the best course for pursuing styate championships. Corbin has possibly cost themselves a couple state championships by poor RPI scheduling.  Tilghman did it right last season and hosted a state semifinal. The way to win the RPI battle is to fill your schedule with decent 5A and 6A teams that you know you are likely to beat. PC, FD and JC will be great games to watch  but Corbin could lose two (or all ) of those and be on the road in the playoffs. I personally think they will win at least two of those, but even one loss might send you to Danville, Covington or Paducah. Not smart, if your main goal is to break a 43 year old drought.

IMO the RPI isn’t what cost us the couple State Championships but hopefully that probably has been rectified…..

Greer outcoached Haddix for most of the regional final at Danville in '23. Corbin was as good, or better, and had a good gameplan. They would have won that game if it had been at Campbell Field.  Scheduling Hazard cost them a state title, in that the Boyle game would have been hosted by the Redhounds.  The RPI difference was miniscule in '23.

 Just for giggles, tell me honestly if Haddix would have used both twins on offense........
