This is a big season coming up for JC and Coach Peck. This will be his fourth year and so the fans will be expecting a better record and to go deeper into the playoffs. You lose a genuine star in Zack McCoart but there is a lot that is returning with Logan Music, Logan Morrow, and Braxton Perry in the backfield. I expect Austin Slone to take another step forward at QB and he has a good arm, but do they trust him to throw the ball more than 2-3 times a game. For as much as people talk about the running game under Matney he was always able to scheme open a few pass plays each game to open the defense. I'd like to see them get closer to 6-8 passing attempts per game rather than 1-2.

The biggest question is whether the defense will be revamped or not. You'd have to go back to before the Matney era to find defense that gave more big plays than last year's defense did. They have to find more speed in the secondary because it was way too easy for Corbin, Ashland, Greenup, Breathitt, and even Belfry to have wide open receivers all over the field. It was chunk play after chunk play. When Belfry throws for 376 yards last year and 3 touchdowns against you something has got to change.
