Pikeville may have the best pitcher in the region, but there's nothing about their on-field results that suggests they're far and away the best team.  In fact, based on results, I'd say it's a toss up among the top 4 before seeing the draw.

Pikeville has the best pitcher and position player in the region.  Duty and B Hall can change the game on their own.  Their number two is better than most of the other number ones.  Pikeville’s has played more quality opponents than the majority of the region. Their region losses were due to young players and pulling pitchers to save arms.  Won’t happen in the post season.

Just looked at their schedule.  It's not much different than Johnson Central's or Lawrence County's, both of which have better records.  And I've seen a few other game-changing position players in the 15th this year.  Not dogging Pikeville, just saying there are a couple other decent teams in the region with more than a puncher's chance at the title.

Hell I dont even like Pikeville but JC’s schedule of PCC, Wolfe, Powell and greenup don’t compare to Sayre, Ryle , Corbin, Freddy D or woodford.  
Lawrence best teams are Ashland and Boyd    Boyd is for real but knott letcher and pburg don’t stack up.  We played you close and this is the worst belfry team I’ve bean around in ages

Pikeville playing Madison Southern, Frederick Douglass and Woodford County this weekend and Lawrence Co. has Wolfe Co., Magoffin Co. and Shelby Valley coming up.

Yeah it’s not quiet the same level of competition but some have their school colored goggles on
