They were in foul trouble bc they had 6-2 & 6-3 guys guarding a 6-8 guy & they refused to double the post. Childress abused them all night & Ashland allowed it. Crazy no adjustments were made after he single-handedly kept them in the game after Spurlock went down early.

But, hats off to BC. This game shouldn’t have been close, considering they essentially played without their best player & another starter. They controlled the tempo & took advantage of mismatches all game long. Played with incredible heart.

Kinda feels like Ashland is backing into the S16, now. I know it’s their biggest rival, on the biggest local stage. And, they deserve credit for winning on an off night. But, this game wasn’t encouraging & if they play like this in Lexington they will get embarrassed. Honestly, if Clarke, who isn’t known as a shooter, doesn’t have a career night & hit FOUR first half 3s, Ashland would likely be done, IMO. Best wishes to Spurlock for a quick recovery. I hope it’s nothing serious.
