Not entirely true. Important to note the context of a poll. It wasn't 76% of Americans, but 76% of speech viewers, which were largely Republican.

Obviously, the poll only included those who watched the speech, but 20 percent of Democrat viewers approving the speech should alarm the Democrat party.

My guess that more than 20 percent of Democrats disapproved of the Democrats' childish antics during the speech. I don't know if that question was included in the survey.

The numbers also suggest that independent voters also strongly approved the speech.
