I'm just confused by the Reed Sheppard arguments if we're talking about a top NBA player.

Top NBA players are never seeing the G League and they are All Stars in their rookie seasons and are in contention for league MVP. That's not meant to be an insult to Sheppard, but no one is confusing him with Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, Embiid, Westbrook, Curry, Duncan, or Olajuwon.
