I listened To the game on radio, this was not actually neck and neck, neck and neck means a an even Steven 1 or 2 point game down to the wire. SL was up 6 to 9 points the entire 2nd half, that doesn’t qualify as neck and neck…It was a very competitive game, but SL pushed the lead to 24-16 in the 2nd qtr and stayed in control of this game from that point on. I’m not trying to say that Bell can’t beat SL, but I am saying that SL took control of this game midway through the 2nd qtr and stayed in control of it the rest of the way…..For the record, I fully expect either HC or SL to be the winner of the 13th region.

South went on their first half run when both Huff and Buell got their second foul. They then both got thirds just as quick. And then buell fouled out with minutes to play. You are right, neck and neck isn’t 9. They did cut it to 4 before Buell fouled out. Bell will have to learn to play without fouling, even though it was a touch whistle, if they wanna beat mabe.

Once again, I have to give kudos to BOTH THESE TEAMS. One was just hoping that the head coach and his wife would be able to be back in the 606 after the most stressful and difficult time of their lives and got back this afternoon. Both teams were preparing for lesser opponents. Seen mabe in an interview say he woke up at 8 am ready for lynn camp and then had to really wake up when someone told him they are playing Bell County. I hope we get a matchup between these two later because I could tell Brad Sizemore either didn’t want to or didn’t have time to prepare for his signature “tweak.” Davis did the same thing. It’s almost like the matchup was WAY TOO GOOD for a senior night this close to the region where it’s almost a given they will face eachot

A couple of keys to this game--Mabe held Bells leading scorer Buell to 6 pts and with five and a half to go in a close game Davis switch Mabe over to hold Burnett to zero for the rest of the game.  And yes neither coach had much of a strategy to this one other than the basics. Brad did try for a couple of plays anyway to double Mabe but other than that pretty basic. And Black bear is correct from the 2nd on SL took control and even though Bell got to within 4 the outcome never felt in question. Another key was that SL hit a few 3's to open up for Mabe to operate a bit. As much as Maddox Huff is the best offensive player in the 13th Mabe is an unstoppable force especially if he is going to the basket with purpose. As far as a "touch whistle" lol cmon keep it real. Bell had no answer for the kid(as no one has Ferg looked like he was trying to suplex Mabe several times lol)and had their arms wrapped around him most of the night. Personally I believe Bell will dominate the 13th next year but this year everything will depend on region draw and I don't think you should order that charter bus just yet because come region time it will go thru HC or SL(both have played a more competative schedule and more experienced on the big stage).  SL is going thru one of the toughest 7 game stretches in recent memory and depending on todays game could come out 5-2 which no one thought was possible. Give me the Cards and the unstoppable force to win the region this year

Touch whistle is 26 free throws combined in the 4th quarter. Well over 50 in the game. That is my friend, a touch whistle. It was not just for both teams I never said that, it just harms Bell A LOT MORE when they only go 6 deep and rely on their top guys to play essentially the whole game.

Hope I don't forfeit my lemonade but I no longer choose attend games at SLHS, better known as the Den of Thieves.      Closest thing we have in the 13th to '70's-'80's Manchester.

I understand lol. I feel the same about the homer refs at Corbin better known as the Den of inequity. And not trying to rouse up the rest of the posse but yes Manchester was the crookedest place to play ever lol

I take 26 free throws in the 4th as usually a indicator of a team being down and fouling to try and get the ball back or 2 physical teams, which both of these are along with Corbin and Clay being the 4 most physical in the 13th. If its a foul its a foul regardless of how many a team has on the bench, If its a problem for a team then they should learn to play without fouling. I was at this game, maybe 6 or 7 sketchy calls equally called on both. Bell is a great team(will be even stronger next year) with a great coach but if you only play with 6 then you gotta learn not to play as aggressive or you will have foul trouble especially on the road anywhere you play. Just my opinion.
