What's Wrong With the Corbin Redhounds ???
#10
I was interested to see how Corbin would respond without Akins. He is calm with the ball and doesn't over dribble or turn it over much. I was disappointed in their performance against Whitley. They should've won that game. Corbin still had more talent on the floor. I was told Akins got hurt against South and re injured it against Barbourville. The Dr said he was unable to play the day of the Whitley game. This is not an excuse but I believe Tony had little time to react in totally overhauling his game plan against Whitley. Ryder takes so much of the focus from defenses that it makes other players game flourish. When he is doubled, he gives it up immediately. Guys were not getting easy looks against Whitley. The new big kid didn't mix it up down low like I had hoped. He is skilled with the ball but will take a bad shot here and there. Corbin didn't shoot well but the most alarming thing was they couldn't keep Whitley from driving to the basket. I still think Corbin will be there in the end. I know it sounds crazy given the last week. I heard Akins isn't playing against North tonight. Evan Ellis is playing his first game for Corbin tonight. I am really interested in seeing how he handles the pressure that will come from a very hot North team. He is a very underrated passer and will demand attention from defenses similar to Akins. He can also really stretch the floor with his shooting. I am looking forward to watching his debut tonight. They should be at full strength come Monday at bell. I'm telling you no team will want to meet this team in the 13th region. I predict they beat Whitley 25 in their rematch in the district.
