That being said, the last regional title for THE COUNTY came in 2018, with a player from Ohio (a recruit). He had a troubled past and initially came to A-Town but was told to clean up his life before returning (this is my story). As we all know, he ended up at Boyd.
Now, there’s another kid in the BC system from Ohio/Huntington. If BC wins the 16th, you might want to reconsider throwing stones from your glass house.
I have never said that kids may want to go to APB on their own which may happen just as you mention the two in a 6 year span for BC. I do know that BC has a one or two more in between that time. Which I think is normal movement in High School. However, that is NOT what I am talking about. How can you actively recruit BC, Russell, Morgan County, Elliot County, Greenup County, and other area schools (that is not opinion that is factual) and then play in a depleted region with those same kids and call yourself a Coach. Tomcat91 is saying the same thing I am but I am going into more detail on the situation.
I don't know how you couldn't win by doing that. I would say APB might have won 1 maybe if they did not get those kids from other schools. JM said it all on how he done it. I used to think like you when he was having those middle school tournaments and live periods held at APB. Until I realized he was using it to scout the area talent for his team. For example, at the AIT last year when Hoskins hit 10's in the one game at the AIT. It was said that day APB staff was asking him to come to APB.
I do think that was a bad move on his part and I said that in another post. As far as for his development as a player he would have been better suited to have stayed at Morgan County. He would have to handle to the ball more, be more of a rebounder and played multiple players on defense. At APB he is a catch and shoot guy. That is my opinion. You and others do not have to agree with it. Doesn't make it right or wrong. I just don't see doing that in hopes of a chance to win a Region.
