That 2003 Breathitt team is another good one, because the semifinal game they lost to Powell is considered one of the single biggest hose jobs in the history of basketball.

I've heard tale that punches were thrown.

Hard to say that they were undoubtedly the best team because Perry County Central had beat them twice in the regular season and I seem to remember them struggling with Willis at times.

Again, this is just on seeing each of the teams in the 14th two to three times that year, so maybe I caught them on some really good nights, but I really liked how Breathitt was constructed and thought that they probably had the most talented team that season because of how well all of their pieces fit.

Would love for someone who wasn’t a teenager at the time to chime in, because I’m sure my adolescent mind didn’t truly understand what happened lol

But I was there and remember a brawl that ended with multiple Breathitt players ejected, Powell was mostly unscathed and then Powell made a 20ish point comeback in the second half.
