I will 110% debate with you on this list. How do you list Paintsville at 4? Paintsville beat your #1 Team by 10 last week and was up by as much as 17 at one point. They are 10-1 in the region with the best record in the region and their only loss was Martin County and the team was battling through injuries and played some of the worst ball they have all year that game.

I agree with you to a point but I’m talking about right now. I watched Johnson central beat almost everyone’s agreed number 1 team the other day. And that team dominated paintsville in the All A. So as to how people are playing now I don’t think paintsville is higher than 4. I don’t think they’re deep enough to win the region tournament. That’s just my opinion.

I don’t think they’re above BL but I probably should’ve put them above floyd. It’s just hard to due to some of their major losses but they also win too. Just a hard team to rank.

Major losses?  They have lost in competive games to JC this week (tied with two minutes to go), ten point loss at paintsville, single digit loss to pike central, and a whopping early in year to pikeville.    One loss to team at time ranked #3 in NC highest class by two, and a loss to defending state Ohio champ with three D1 commits.  

They have beat every team ranked from 7-13 in your rankings head to head.   I think they fall into the sixth spot (who in region has Phelps beat?)

above poster was right they have a combined 48 point positive margin on Floyd central in their two meetings.  (And a nine point win at Betsy layne).

I agree with that actually now that you put it that way. But I don’t think it’s a big gap. Just barely.

This list will definitely fluctuate as the week goes on, as Paintsville has road district games at Martin Co. Tuesday & at Johnson Central Thursday.

@-STAT-What makes everyone so high on paintsville? I was until I watched that All A matchup and it didn’t even look close to me. Martin Co dominated them and that makes me believe that they don’t have it to win a region title.

@Quincy I'm just basing my rankings off of how each team done last week Paintsville dominated Magoffin on the road, defeated Betsy Layne at home, and dominated Russell at home Saturday. I know JC beat Martin, but Paintsville has a victory over JC just a few weeks ago. 

Think Paintsville learned a lot since that ALL A matchup, they went into that game timid and didn't play loose at all, even cutting the lead to 5 at half, everyone just had that feeling that Martin Co would go on a big run in the 2nd half and that's what happened. Paintsville is just very disciplined on the offensive side, Martin is more athletic, but size wise Paintsville has the advantage even tho Martin can contend with them. It'll be back to back tough test for Paintsville this week with both games on the road, we will truly see what kind of team they are, but they're playing just as good as anyone right now since the ALL A loss.

By the end of next week we should get a better idea. Paintsville plays a super touchy schedule battling Martin County, JC, and pikeville all in the next 2 weeks.
