Soo Cal didn't want to win one game in the last two NCAA tournaments?
That explains a lot!!

He did , and would have , without the sorry play of Reed and DJ. Probably would have added another Final Four to the Hall of Famer's resume.  

I think Cal became lazy( content) the past few seasons. He relied on his McDonalds AA and his assistants to do a lot of the heavy lifting. He didn't prepare like he once did. Big fat checks will do that to a man. Not saying that he didn't want to win, because he did, but it was not like it was when he first married Big Blue. It's like a lot of marriages. The first few years are great and you do everything within your power to make it work. And then you get secure in that relationship and complacency sets in. 

When Cal is backed into a corner and is painted as the villain, he does everything in his power to pound you into granules of sand. Bottomline, last night Cal wanted that game more than he wanted Ellen's cookies, so to speak. He wanted to beat UK . BADLY!!! He put in all the prep work for this one. Nothing lazy about his performance in his "Homecoming."  When the Hall of Famer really wants to  beat your ass in the worst way, it's very, very difficult to prevent him from doing so.  Cal wanted that game last night more than the Kentucky players or the Kentucky coach did. It's time BGR basketball scholars tip their caps to the Legend and move on to Ole Miss.

So, did Calapari want to win the Oakland game? Of course. Coaches are some of the most competitive people on the planet. Did he want to beat Oakland as badly as he wanted to make UK fans cry last night? NO WAY!!!  Cal wanted to beat Oakland but he HAD to beat UK.  Hall of Famer = 1    Kentucky =  0   .
